Golden Blount Gas Fireplaces, Vented Gas Logs and Fire Pits
Open front fireboxes up to fifty inches wide, linear fireplaces with no hot glass, and the vented log sets that fill them.
Vented gas fireplaces and open front linear fireboxes
Golden Blount builds the openings other manufacturers will not: fifty inches wide at a hundred thousand BTU, and linear fireboxes up to ninety six inches with no glass across the front.
- Open front, so the flame reads as a masonry fire rather than an appliance
- No hot glass, no gaskets and no air wash system to service
- Framing drawings published, ready for the plan set
Vented gas log sets in charred, seasoned and fresh cut
A gas log set is judged standing three feet from it, which is why bark depth, ember bed and the front log matter more than the brochure photograph.
- Six and eight log sets, 18 to 72 inches, matched to the firebox opening
- Charred for a dark stone face, fresh cut to lift a light limestone surround
- Oversized Big Tex castings for tall zero clearance and oversized masonry fireboxes
See through gas fireplace log sets and burners
A see through firebox is seen from two rooms, so a single sided log set shows its unfinished back to one of them and a single sided burner throws its best flame at the other.
- Log sets finished on both faces, 24 to 42 inches
- Burner assemblies laid out to burn evenly to both rooms
- Decide which room the valve is reachable from before the surround is built
Gas log burner assemblies and controlled ember bed burners
The burner is what the fire actually looks like, and sizing it to the firebox instead of to the log set is the most common mistake on a gas log installation.
- Skytech 3-in-1 for remote and thermostat control
- Dexen millivolt for a simple wall switch arrangement
- Controlled ember bed burners, the biggest visual upgrade available
Grand Fire Pits, linear fire pans and stainless spoke burners
Golden Blount built the Grand Fire Pit as the answer to small, cheap looking fire pits: massive molded ceramic logs on a heavy steel center stand over a fourteen gauge pan.
- Fourteen gauge pans with high temperature powder coating and a deep well
- Stainless steel high velocity spoke burners for even edge to edge flame
- Linear pans from 36 to 96 inches, built to drop into a surround
Keep the fireplace you already have running
Pilots, valves, safety pilot kits, remotes, screens and media. Send a photo of the firebox and the valve and we will identify the part from it, which is faster than searching a number.
Spec sheets, install instructions and framing drawings
The manufacturer's own published documents, hosted here so you can download them without hunting. The framing drawings go straight into the plan set.

Open a builder or contractor account
If you specify fireplaces for a living you should not be starting from a web form every time. A trade account gets you one contact who knows your jobs.
- Submittal documents and framing drawings sent for the models you specify
- One named contact across every project rather than a queue
- Lead times confirmed before you commit a date to a client
- Multiple project quoting without re-entering the same details
Send us the project and get the configuration in writing
Golden Blount is quoted rather than listed, because the right configuration depends on the firebox, the fuel, the venting and the control. Tell us the project and we work it out with you.
- The exact assembly, named by model, so nothing is left to interpretation
- Lead time and the freight arrangement, both in writing
- A compatibility check between the firebox, the log set and the burner
- Repairs welcome: send a photo and we identify the part
What to settle before the fireplace is ordered
Venting, before anything else
Top vent, B-vent or power vent changes the chase, the clearances and sometimes the whole wall. The Superfire takes 8 inch B-vent, the HD models and the larger linears take 10 inch, and the 96 inch linear needs a power vent. Settle it with your installer before the framing is built.
Size the burner to the log set
Not to the fireplace opening. A burner sized to the opening gives you flame at the ends and nothing in the middle. Tell us the log set model on the quote form and we match the burner, the pilot and the valve to it in one go.
Fuel is a different part, not a conversion
Orifice and pilot differ between natural gas and propane, so a propane assembly is not a natural gas assembly with a kit on it. Confirm what is actually at the property before anything is ordered, because specifying the wrong fuel costs a service call.
More about Golden Blount gas fireplaces and vented gas logs
Why Golden Blount fireboxes read as masonry rather than as appliances
Almost every gas fireplace sold today puts a sheet of glass across the front. It is cheaper to certify, and it lets a manufacturer claim an efficiency number. It also means the fire you look at is behind a pane that goes hot, collects film and eventually needs a gasket. Golden Blount builds open front fireboxes instead, which is why a Superfire or an El Grande reads as a masonry fireplace from across a great room. There is nothing between the flame and the room, nothing to stay hot after the fire is out, and nothing to service except the gas train itself.
What a builder needs to settle early
A fireplace is one of the few things in a custom home that has to be decided before the framing, not after the finishes. The rough opening, the vent run and its termination, the clearances, the gas line and the place where the valve stays reachable all land in the framing stage. Golden Blount publishes framing drawings for the Superfire 4224, the El Grande HD 5030, the Skyscraper HD 4240 and the linear LFP models, and all of them are on this page to download. Hand the drawing to the framer with the plan set and the firebox drops into a hole that already fits.
Gas log sets are judged up close
Bark depth is the first thing the eye checks, which is why Golden Blount describes the Super Six bark as the deepest in the industry and why the Big Tex castings are genuinely oversized rather than a standard log photographed close. The second thing is the ember bed. Every family in the range carries a special two piece rotted or charred front log for exactly that reason, and a controlled ember bed burner underneath is the largest single visual upgrade available on any of them.
Why there is no price on these pages
Because a Golden Blount order is a configuration rather than a product. The firebox, the log set, the burner, the pilot, the valve, the control and the venting have to agree with each other and with the room, and the freight on a firebox is not the freight on a bag of lava rock. Send the project on the quote form and what comes back names the exact assembly, the lead time and the freight arrangement in writing. If it is a repair rather than a new installation, a photograph of the firebox and the valve identifies the part faster than any part number search.
