Why there is no price on this page
Every custom build is quoted per project. Size, mounting surface, fabric and site conditions all change the number, so any figure shown here would be wrong for most projects.
If your space is larger than a standard cantilever run, an unusual shape, or attached to an existing structure, this is the right route. If it isn’t, the standard range will cost you less and ship faster.

When do you need a custom structure?
You need a custom quote when the standard Shade DeLux configuration will not cover your space. The standard cantilever covers 80 square feet and expands in 10′ increments to a 30′ total run. Past that, the structure gets built to the project.
Beyond 30 feet
Runs longer than the modular maximum, or coverage across a whole pool deck.
Awkward geometry
Multi-level decks, irregular pools, or shade that works around an existing roofline.
Commercial sites
Restaurant patios, waterfront decks and public sites with their own wind spec.
Difficult mounting
Where neither the direct-to-concrete footer nor the ballast base suits the surface.

Common questions
What counts as a custom shade structure?
A custom structure is any Tara shade build that falls outside the standard Shade DeLux cantilever configuration. Anything larger than a 30′ run, differently shaped, or built around an existing structure is quoted as a custom project.
How large can a standard Shade DeLux get first?
The Shade DeLux expands to 30′ in total, adding 10′ per extension kit from a base 8′ × 10′ unit. If 30′ covers your space, you do not need a custom quote.
Why is there no price on this page?
Custom structures are quoted per project because size, fabric, mounting surface and site conditions all change the cost. Tara quotes each build individually.
Can a custom Tara shade be used commercially?
Yes. Tara custom shades are installed on commercial and municipal sites as well as residential ones, including waterfront decks and restaurant patios.
What colours are available?
Seventeen standard fabric colours: Vanilla, Wheat, Mocha, Paprika, Graphite Gray, Laguna Blue, Sunflower, Pistachio, Olive, Silver, Pearl Onyx, Latte, Hazelnut, Bottle Green, Dove Blue, True Blue and Navy. More are available on request.
Do custom builds carry the same warranty?
Warranty terms on a custom build are confirmed with Tara as part of the quote and stated in writing before you commit to anything. Ask us for the specific terms on your structure rather than assuming the standard line carries over.
Can a custom structure be moved later?
That depends on the footer. The standard Shade DeLux offers a direct-to-concrete footer and a moveable ballast base held down with 200 lb of pavers per base. Which footer options apply to a custom build is confirmed with Tara during the quote, so tell us up front if being able to relocate the structure matters to you.
How long does a quote take?
Send the site details and we will come back to confirm the scope with you first, then get Tara pricing the build. A straightforward residential run moves faster than a commercial site with its own wind specification.
