A 42 inch wide open firebox that puts a real fire in the room with no glass in front of it. The Superfire 4224 is the fireplace builders specify when the great room has to feel finished the moment the fire is lit.
- Fuel: Natural gas, Propane
- No glass frontAn open firebox reads as masonry, not as an appliance. Nothing between the flame and the room, nothing to stay hot, nothing to clean after every fire.
- Finished inside, not just framedHighly detailed refractory panels come in two styles and four colors, so the inside of the firebox is part of the design rather than a flat gray liner.
- Three log styles to choose fromSpecify the log set that matches the room. The same firebox carries a charred, a seasoned or a full bark presentation.
Specify it once and it fits
The Superfire 4224 frames to a published drawing and vents through 8 inch B-vent. Download the framing dimensions below and hand them to the framer with the plan set.

How to get a price and lead time
Golden Blount is quoted rather than listed, because the right configuration depends on the firebox, the fuel, the venting and the control. Send the project details on the quote form on this page and you get back the exact assembly, the lead time and the freight arrangement in writing.
Builders and fireplace contractors working on more than one project at a time should open a trade account. It gets you drawings, submittal documents and a single point of contact across jobs.
If this is a repair rather than a new installation, send a photo of the firebox and the valve. That identifies the part faster than any part number search.
