The Osburn faceplate backing plate kit sits behind the cast iron faceplate of the Matrix wood insert and covers the fireplace opening, in 29" x 44" (AC01322) or 29" x 50" (AC01332). It mounts on brackets fastened to the insert's convection air jacket. It is also the base the AC01323 projection kit attaches to.

Which size do I need?
Choose the plate that covers your fireplace opening behind the insert: 29" x 44" or 29" x 50". Osburn pairs it with a bottom backing plate, AC01321 (44" x 6") or AC01333 (50" x 6").
Do I need the projection kit?
Only if the cast iron faceplate will sit forward of the fireplace opening. The AC01323 projection kit gives 2" or 4" and must be fastened to one of these backing plates.
How does it install?
Fasten the mounting brackets to the sides and top of the convection air jacket, using the predrilled holes for 0", 2" or 4". Then line the backing plate up with the outer bracket holes and fasten it with ten screws.
