The Osburn AC01321 is the 44" x 6" bottom faceplate backing plate for the Matrix wood insert. It closes the lower part of the fireplace opening behind the cast iron faceplate and works together with a top backing plate kit. It fastens to the insert's side brackets with two screws.

Yes. Osburn's instructions use one top backing plate kit (AC01322 or AC01332) with one bottom plate. This listing is the bottom plate only.
