SwamCam Replacement Pool Alarm Camera | SCCAM2CAM
SwamCam Replacement Pool Alarm Camera | SCCAM2CAM
The SwamCam replacement camera is a genuine Series 2 camera for taking the place of one that has been damaged or has failed. It ships without a power adapter, because it reuses the one already installed at the camera position.
Is this the camera you need?
Only if you are replacing a camera and keeping its existing power adapter and cable. If you are adding a viewpoint rather than replacing one, you want the secondary camera, which includes a power pack.
| Model | Power pack | Buy it when |
|---|---|---|
| SCCAM2CAM | Not included | Replacing a damaged or failed camera |
| SCCAM2SC | Included | Adding a second viewpoint to your system |

What do you need alongside it?
The current style SwamCam power adapter and a cable long enough for the run. If your existing adapter is the older style, or the cable was damaged along with the camera, add the matching power item to your order.
- Existing adapter still good: order the camera on its own
- Cable damaged, short run: add a 15ft power cable, SCPC16
- Cable damaged, long run: add a 50ft power cable, SCPC50
- Adapter is the older style: add a cable and adapter set, SCPP16 or SCPP50
- SwamCam is an additional layer of protection. It is not a substitute for a barrier or for supervision, and constant adult supervision is still required.

What else do buyers ask about the Replacement Camera?
Why does this not include a power adapter?
Because it is a replacement. The adapter and cable at the camera position are usually undamaged, so the manufacturer sells the camera on its own and lets you reuse them. That keeps the price below the secondary camera.
What if my adapter is the old style?
Then order a cable and adapter set rather than a bare cable. The manufacturer sells these as SCPP16 for a 15ft run and SCPP50 for a 50ft run, both with the current style adapter included.
Is this the same camera as the one in the system?
Yes, it is the same Series 2 camera. The difference between the products in this range is what ships alongside the camera, not the camera itself.
Will it pair with my existing system?
It pairs to a SwamCam system in the app in the same way the original camera did. Have your system online and the app to hand when you install it.
Can I use this to add a second camera instead?
You can, but you would then need to buy a power pack separately, which usually costs more than simply buying the secondary camera that includes one. Compare the two before ordering.
Does the warranty cover the camera it is replacing?
That depends on the age and cause of the original failure and is a question for SwamCam directly. The manufacturer warranty runs one year from purchase and covers defects in materials and workmanship.
Does it detect someone already in the water?
No. It detects a person approaching the pool area before they enter the water. It does not monitor swimming activity and it will not detect a drowning.
How long does the camera take to install?
Most of the work is mounting and running power, not the camera itself. If you are reusing an existing mount, adapter and cable, swapping the camera and pairing it in the app is the short part of the job.
Not sure whether you need a replacement or a secondary camera?
The short version: replacing a camera means SCCAM2CAM, adding one means SCCAM2SC. If you are unsure what adapter you have, tell us roughly when your system was installed and we will work it out. Manuals, warranties and certificates are on our manuals and guides page. Aqua Terra Backyard is a retailer, not an installer.
