The SwamCam wireless keypad arms and disarms a SwamCam system with a code, without anyone needing a phone. Mount it by the door to the pool so whoever is heading out can disarm on the way past.
Why add a second keypad?
One keypad ships with every SwamCam system. A second one earns its place when there is more than one way out to the pool, or when the single keypad is not where people actually walk.

How do you arm and disarm with it?
A code on the keypad, with no phone involved. The same system can also be armed in the app or left to the auto-arm timer, which re-arms after a wait time you set. These are the manufacturer's own walkthroughs.

Where should the keypad be mounted?
On the path people actually take to the pool, at a height everyone who needs it can reach. It is rated IP66 and from -4°F to 131°F, so an exposed exterior wall is within its rating.
Range is up to 100 ft with clear line of sight, and walls, appliances and metal all reduce it. Test the position before fixing it permanently. SwamCam is an additional layer of protection. It is not a substitute for a barrier or for supervision, and constant adult supervision is still required.

What else do buyers ask about the Wireless Keypad?
Do I need this if my system came with a keypad?
Not necessarily. Every SwamCam system ships with one keypad. A second is worth it when there is more than one route out to the pool, or when guests without the app need to disarm the system.
Are batteries included?
No. The keypad takes two AAA batteries and the manufacturer does not supply them. Have a pair on hand for installation day so you are not stopped halfway through.
Can I set different codes for different people?
Creating and managing unique codes per user requires the manufacturer's optional Premium Subscription. The keypad works without a subscription, but that particular feature sits behind one. Confirm terms with SwamCam.
How long do the batteries last?
The manufacturer rates the keypad at eight to twelve months on a pair of AAA batteries. Their FAQ separately suggests about a year on good lithium cells under typical use.
Can it be mounted outside?
Yes. It is rated IP66 and from -4 to 131 degrees Fahrenheit, which covers an exposed exterior wall in most of the country. Note that 131 is lower than the camera's rating, so avoid the hottest unshaded surfaces.
How far from the system can it go?
Up to 100 feet with unobstructed line of sight. Walls, metal and appliances cut that down, so test the keypad where you intend to mount it before you drill anything.
Does the keypad work if the WiFi is down?
The keypad talks to the system over its own wireless link rather than your WiFi, so arming and disarming still work. What you lose while the internet is down is the phone notification.
Does it work without a SwamCam system?
No. The keypad is a control for a SwamCam system and does nothing on its own. If you do not have a system yet, start with the camera system, which includes a keypad.
