The American Flame AFVK from Skytech is a standing safety pilot valve kit for vented gas log sets, set up for natural gas with manual Hi/Lo flame control. It is designed for 18 to 30 inch log sets and comes with the valve, pilot assembly, thermocouple, connectors and the damper stop. The pilot is lit by hand, and the instructions warn never to connect 110 volt power to the valve.

What size log set is it for?
The AFVK is designed for 18 to 30 inch vented gas log sets.
Can it run on propane?
It ships set up for natural gas only. The instructions list conversion kits AFLPK-18 and AFLPK-24 for propane and recommend an inlet pressure regulator on every propane installation.
How is the pilot lit?
It has a standing pilot that you light by hand. The instructions warn that connecting 110 volt power will damage the valve.
Can I add a wall switch?
Yes, the instructions cover the optional WAF-VK1 hearth/wall switch, which plugs into the valve.
Is it right for my fireplace?
