If the heater starts the pre-ignition sequence but never gets to flame, or the blower is noisy, weak, or not moving combustion air the way it should, the combustion air blower is one of the first parts to inspect. A failing blower can stop the heater before ignition is ever allowed to happen.
This combustion air blower supplies the airflow needed for the heater’s combustion and draft-related operation on compatible 207 through 407 units. When the blower motor weakens, the wheel binds, or the assembly stops producing the required airflow, the heater may lock out or fail to run cleanly. Replacing it restores the combustion air movement the system depends on.
