If your temperature sensor readings are inaccurate or the sensor itself is damaged during removal, the sensor well may be the problem. Corrosion or buildup inside the well can interfere with proper temperature measurement.
The sensor well houses the temperature sensor and isolates it from direct water contact while allowing accurate readings. A compromised well can cause false readings, leading to improper heater cycling.
