Modern Flames RedStone Insert Surround Kit
Modern Flames RedStone insert surround kits are black extra-wide trim sets that let a RedStone 26, 30 or 36 electric fireplace cover the edges of an existing fireplace opening. Each size comes in a small and a large surround, from 4 to 8 inches of trim, and every kit includes two bottom pieces so it also works over a low hearth. Part numbers TK-RS26-3324, TK-RS26-3726, TK-RS30-3824, TK-RS30-4427, TK-RS36-4128 and TK-RS36-4530.

Questions people ask us
Small or large: which do I need?
Measure the existing opening and the face around it. The surround has to reach past the edges you want to hide. On the RedStone 36, for example, the small kit covers 40-1/2 in. wide and the large kit 44-1/2 in. wide.
Why two bottom pieces?
Each set comes with an extra bottom piece for low-clearance hearth installations. Modern Flames notes the thin bottom trim is the one usually used over a low hearth.
How does it attach?
With the fireplace face down on a soft cloth, remove the corner and perimeter screws, fit both side pieces, then the top and bottom, and finish with the 8 trim-to-trim screws. A P2 Phillips screwdriver is all the guide calls for.
Is there a kit for the RedStone 42 or 54?
No. Modern Flames lists extra-wide trim as not available for the RS-4229 and RS-5435.
