The Modern Flames Orion V2 Traditional is a built-in electric fireplace with a next-generation LCD flame display, made in 26, 30, 36, 42 and 54 inch sizes. It comes with a lit log set, crushed glass media, a remote and built-in speakers with Bluetooth streaming, and it pairs with the Modern Flames+ app. It installs as a built-in clean face, self-trimming, or as a retrofit into an existing opening. Models OR26-TRAD-V2 to OR54-TRAD-V2.

Questions people ask us
Does it plug in or does it need to be hardwired?
Every size ships with a 120V plug and is also hardwire ready. Modern Flames calls for a dedicated 15 amp circuit at minimum, with 20 amp preferred. Hardwiring should be done by a licensed electrician.
Which sizes can run on 240V?
Only the 36, 42 and 54 inch models (OR36, OR42 and OR54). Wired for 240V they run both heaters, and the installation manual lists 8,300 BTU. That needs a dedicated 2-pole breaker. The 26 and 30 inch models are 120V only.
What rough opening do I frame?
The 36 inch needs 32 5/8" W x 23 7/8" H, the 42 inch 38 3/4" x 26 3/4" and the 54 inch 50 15/16" x 32 3/4", all at least 10 1/2" deep for a built-in clean face. The table above lists every size. Use the manual for final framing.
Can I cover a larger existing opening?
For the 26, 30 and 36 inch sizes, Modern Flames makes optional extra-wide surround kits in a small and a large width. They are not made for the 42 or 54. See Modern Flames trims and fronts.
Can it be installed outdoors?
The manual approves it outdoors only as a built-in under a patio cover, out of direct water and sunlight. The roof overhang and side cover each need to be at least half the height measured from the bottom of the fireplace, and the base sits at least 2" off the floor.
