A guard who is cooking in direct sun stops scanning properly, and that is a safety problem before it is a comfort one. A proper guard umbrella is built for wind and all day UV, not for a patio table.

- Built for wind, not for a backyardA patio umbrella in a gust becomes a sail and then a projectile. Guard umbrellas are built with vented canopies and heavier hardware for exactly that reason.
- Marine grade fabricStandard patio fabric fades and rots in a season of chlorine spray and UV. Marine fabric is the reason these last.
- It mounts to the standA free standing umbrella next to a guard chair is not the same thing. These are made to fit the stand so the shade follows the guard.
Shade is scan quality
Every aquatic safety audit that looks at scanning performance ends up talking about heat. Shade on the stand is the cheapest intervention available.

Common questions
Most guard stands take a standard pole diameter, but it is worth confirming. Send us a photo of the chair and we will tell you.
Better than a patio umbrella, but nothing survives a real storm. The right practice is to take it down when the pool closes for weather.
Several colorways are built, and custom work is sometimes available. Ask and we will check the current options.
Fabric is the limit, not the frame. A marine grade canopy in full sun usually gives several seasons before the color goes.
Most of the Kemp range ships from stock, and delivery choices are shown at checkout. If you need a date confirmed before you order, call 631-678-6506 and we will confirm it with the warehouse first.
