Kemp USA 50 in Rescue Tube with GUARD Logo and Splash Design

A rescue tube is the one piece of equipment on the stand that has to work the first time, every time. Kemp builds these in closed cell vinyl foam that stays buoyant after a season of sun, chlorine and being dropped on concrete.

  • Closed cell foam, not open cellOpen cell foam drinks water and goes heavy and soft. Closed cell stays the same weight wet as dry, which is what a guard is counting on at the end of a long swim.
  • Sized to the guard, not the catalogForty, forty five and fifty inch tubes exist because a tube that is too long fouls the stroke and one that is too short does not float two people.
  • The strap and clip take the loadThe failure point on a cheap tube is the hardware, not the foam. Check the strap length and the clip before a season, not during one.

Buy them in sets and date them

Most facilities replace tubes on a rotation rather than when one fails. Buying a matched set and marking the season on each one makes that rotation obvious instead of a judgment call.

Common questions

What length rescue tube should a guard carry?

Forty inch for a smaller guard or a tight pool, forty five as the common standard, fifty for open water and larger guards. Tell us the stand setup and we will suggest the split.

How long does a rescue tube last?

It depends on sun exposure more than use. Vinyl covers chalk and crack from UV, so an outdoor pool replaces more often than an indoor one. Most facilities rotate on a season or two.

Do these meet lifeguard certification requirements?

Kemp rescue tubes are the standard type used in guard training and at guarded facilities. Confirm the specific requirement with your certifying body and your state pool code.

Can I get them with our facility name?

Custom logo work is available on a lot of the Kemp lifeguard range. Ask on the product page and we will confirm the minimum and the lead time.

How fast does this ship?

Most of the Kemp range ships from stock, and delivery choices are shown at checkout. If you need a date confirmed before you order, call 631-678-6506 and we will confirm it with the warehouse first.
