Kemp USA 19 in Lifestyle Ring Buoy, Not For Lifesaving
A ring buoy is on the wall because code says so, and it gets used because it works. Kemp builds US Coast Guard approved buoys in sizes that match what a pool code inspector is looking for.
- Coast Guard approved sizesTwenty, twenty four and thirty inch. Most state pool codes call out a minimum diameter and a line length, so the size on the wall is not a style choice.
- Orange reads, white does notOrange shows against water and concrete at a distance. White looks tidier on a wall and disappears the moment it is in the water.
- Pair it with a line, not a prayerA buoy with no throw line attached is decoration. Code almost always specifies a rope length alongside the buoy diameter.
Check your pool code before you choose the size
The required diameter and line length vary by state and by whether the pool is public, semi public or residential. Tell us your state and the pool type and we will tell you what the common requirement is.

Common questions
Most public pool codes specify a minimum of twenty four inches with a throw line of at least one and a half times the pool width. Check your own state code, and ask us if you want a hand.
Many codes require it for a public pool. The Kemp buoys listed here are USCG approved, which is the safe way to specify.
Orange for anything that might actually be thrown. White is usually a decor choice for a residential pool.
A buoy needs to come off the wall fast and go back on easily, or it ends up on the ground. Ask and we will include the right mount.
