The Grand Canyon Battery Electronic Ignition Kit is a pilot on demand valve system for vented gas log burners, powered by a battery pack of two D-cells and supplied with the GCRK remote. A spark lights the pilot only when you turn the fire on, so no standing pilot burns between uses and no wall outlet is needed. Choose GAS-MVKEIKN for natural gas or GAS-MVKEIKLP for propane; the propane kit adds an LP regulator and LP pilot orifice. Grand Canyon lists it for indoor use.

Questions people ask us
Natural gas or propane, which one do I need?
Order the kit for the gas at your fireplace: GAS-MVKEIKN for natural gas or GAS-MVKEIKLP for propane. The propane kit adds the LP-VAL regulator and the LP-PIL pilot orifice.
Is a remote included?
Yes. Both versions include the Grand Canyon GCRK on/off remote with timer.
Does it need electricity?
No wall outlet is needed. The valve and spark run on a battery pack with two D-cell batteries, and the GCRK receiver runs on 4 AA batteries.
Does the pilot stay lit?
No. It is a pilot on demand system: the spark lights the pilot when you turn the fire on, and everything shuts off when you turn it off.
Which burners does it work with?
On propane, Grand Canyon lists the 2 Burner from 18" to 42", the 3 Burner from 18" to 36" and the Jumbo from 24" to 30". For natural gas, send us your burner model and size and we will confirm it.
Can it go outdoors?
Grand Canyon lists this kit for indoor vented fireplaces. For an outdoor fire feature, ask us about Grand Canyon's outdoor ignition systems.
