The Grand Canyon 710-502 is the standard millivolt gas valve for natural gas used in Grand Canyon's MVQMK millivolt quick mount kits. It is a Robertshaw 710 series valve, powered by the pilot thermopile, and it can be switched by a remote or wall switch. On propane kits it is converted with the 1751-016 LP conversion kit.

Grand Canyon's millivolt quick mount kit (MVQMKN and MVQMKLP).

Can it run on propane?

Yes, with the 1751-016 LP conversion kit, set to 11.0" W.C. The burner and pilot orifices change too.

How do I test it?

Grand Canyon's manual uses a 0 to 1000 mV meter. Over 100 mV with the valve not opening points to the valve operator. A technician can run the checks.
