Use approved media only, never lava rock.FireGarden's Voracious instructions call for 1/4 inch crushed glass or other media it approves, in one layer over the burner, with the pilot area kept clear. Porous media such as lava rock can trap water that turns to steam. A licensed gas professional should make the gas connection to the instructions and local codes.
