FireGarden Crushed Fire Glass comes in a 10 lb box of 1/4 inch crushed glass, in Platinum (94500580), Bronze (94500581) or Cobalt (94500582). It is the media FireGarden specifies for its linear fire pit burners, Voracious Fire pit burners and linear gas fireplaces, spread in a single layer over the burner. It is not for Tempest torches and lanterns or the 4035 traditional fireplace.

Less is better than more.FireGarden's manuals call for a single layer of glass over the burner, with the pilot area kept clear. The linear fireplace manual puts it simply: better too little glass than too much.

Questions people ask us

How many boxes do I need?

FireGarden's manuals call for 15 lbs (2 boxes) on the 36 inch linear burner, 25 lbs (3 boxes) on the 60 inch, 35 lbs (4 boxes) on the 96 inch, 30 lbs on the 84 x 24 fire pit and 40 lbs (4 boxes) in the 6424 fireplace. For a Voracious burner, send us the size and shape and we will work it out.

Can I use lava rock instead?

No. FireGarden warns against porous media such as lava rock, which can trap water that turns to steam. Use the crushed glass or FireGarden tumbled stones.

Does it work in a Tempest Torch or the 4035?

No. FireGarden lists its media as not compatible with Tempest models, and the 4035 uses a log set instead.
