The British Fires Ashlett 26 is a 26 inch electric fireplace insert with a fixed bed of real, hand-charred oak logs, LED flames and dark rear glass as standard. It runs on 120V with a 1500 W heater and installs one, two or three sided. No frame is in the box. To finish the opening, pair it with the Ashlett 26 Frame. Part number FCBUS0032.

Plan the frame and a circuit of its own.Order the insert with an Ashlett 26 front frame or three sided frame, since no frame is in the box. The manual calls for the insert on its own 15 amp circuit breaker with no extension cord, and any hardwiring done by a qualified electrician. Keep combustibles 3 ft from the front.

Questions people ask us

Which frame do I need?

For a flat wall, the front frame (FCB0086), a 1/8" steel plate about 21 3/8" H x 29 1/2" W. For an insert open on three sides, the three sided frame (FCB0089), about 21 1/2" H x 29 7/8" W x 13 1/2" D. Both are on the Ashlett 26 Frame page.

Does it plug in?

Yes. It has a 3-pin plug on a cord about 70" long, and the manual calls for its own 15 amp circuit breaker. Do not use an extension cord. If you hardwire it instead, a qualified electrician should do it, or the warranty may be void.

What comes in the box?

The heater unit, the Deluxe Real Log fuel bed, the remote with 2 AAA batteries, a wall bracket, mounting brackets, blanking plates, end trims and fixings. The frame is not included.

Can it heat my room?

It has a 1500 W heater with thermostatic control. British Fires describes it as suited to well-insulated spaces or occasional use, not as a primary heat source. You can also run the flames with no heat.

Can it go in an old fireplace?

It is not for use in an open flue. The manual says a chimney must be blocked off first. Send us photos and measurements and we will check the opening.
