The Athena T-Burner is a 304 stainless steel burner for gas fire features, made in 36, 48, 60 and 72 inch lengths. It is built from 19-gauge stainless steel, and its burner holes are drilled rather than pressed, which Athena says gives better gas flow and a quieter flame. Athena lists it for natural gas or propane. Part numbers TBSS36, TBSS48, TBSS60 and TBSS72.

Questions people ask us

Which length should I choose?

The T-Burner comes in 36, 48, 60 and 72 inch lengths. Pick the one that fits inside your fire feature. If you are unsure, send us the inside dimensions and we will help you choose.

Does it work with natural gas and propane?

Yes. Athena lists it for both fuels, with a separate orifice size for each. On the 36 inch TBSS36, for example, Athena lists orifice 14 for natural gas and orifice 32 for propane.

How much heat does each size put out?

Athena rates the TBSS36 at 90,000 BTU on natural gas and 94,000 BTU on propane, the TBSS48 at 108,000 BTU and 115,000 BTU, and the TBSS60 at 177,000 BTU and 140,000 BTU.

Is there a pan made for this burner?

Yes. The Athena Drop-In Linear Pan comes with a T-burner already fitted, in the same four lengths, with a 6 inch wide pan.

What media goes over it?

Athena recommends 1/2 inch reflective fire glass with its T and H burners. You can browse it in our Athena fire glass range.
