Questions people ask us
Masonry trim or narrow overlap?
Choose the masonry trim for brick or stone set flush with the fireplace. For thin facing such as tile, Valcourt offers the straight narrow overlap VA16FE06.
Is a trim required on the St-Laurent?
Yes. The FP16D manual says you must install one of the two faceplates, sold separately.
When does it go on?
The trim is fastened to the fireplace first, then the cement board and the non-combustible facing are installed against it. If the facing is thicker than 3/8", the manual has you install it before the fireplace.
Not sure about your facing?
Tell us the material and thickness and we will check it against the manual.
