Which trim should I choose?
Use the narrow overlap with thin facing such as tile. For a flush finish with brick or stone, Valcourt offers masonry trims VA11DTR and VA11DTA instead.
Is a trim required on the Frontenac?
Yes. The FP11D manual says you must install one of the trims: a narrow overlap or a masonry trim, sold separately.
How is it installed?
After the fireplace is installed, push the overlap against the non-combustible facing, secure it with 4 screws, square it to the fireplace and check that the doors still slide freely.
