The SwamCam camera mounting kit is the powder coated bracket and fastener set for fixing a camera to siding, chain link or aluminum fence. A kit ships with every SwamCam system, so this is a spare or a second set.
Do you need this kit?
Only as a spare or an addition. Mounting kits are included with every SwamCam camera system, so you do not need to buy this alongside a new system.

Where should a camera be mounted?
High enough to look across the ground around the water, with the detection zone covering the approaches rather than the pool surface. The bracket handles the common exterior surfaces, but the deciding factor is usually power rather than the bracket.
Work out the cable route to the outlet before you fix anything. SwamCam is an additional layer of protection. It is not a substitute for a barrier or for supervision, and constant adult supervision is still required.

What surfaces does it fit?
The manufacturer lists siding, chain link and aluminum fence among others. The kit includes wood screws and plastic anchors as well as bolts and nuts, which covers most common exterior surfaces.
Is the hardware weather resistant?
The bracket is powder coated for weather protection. Fixings exposed to pool chemistry and weather do age, which is one reason to keep a spare set on hand.
Will it fit a wooden post or a masonry wall?
The wood screws and anchors cover timber and many masonry situations. For an unusual surface, tell us what you are fixing to and we will check before you order.
Does the kit include the camera?
No, it is the mounting hardware only. The camera is a separate product, and a complete SwamCam system also includes the indoor alarm and the wireless keypad. This kit is the bracket and fasteners on their own.
Can I mount the camera without this kit?
You can use other hardware, but the kit is designed around the camera's back-plate and includes the rubber pad that protects the mounting surface. Improvised fixings tend to be the ones that fail.
