Sunstar Heat Shield Kit, Marine Grade, for the SGL35
The SGL35 shield in 316 stainless, for the installations where the black one would not last. Salt air, pool chemistry and regular wash downs are what this finish is for.
- Matched to a marine grade heater. A 316 stainless heater under a black steel shield is a strange looking run and the shield is the part that goes first.
- 316, not 304. The higher grade is the one specified for chloride exposure, which is what salt air and pool water both are.
- Same fit as the black one. It is the SGL35 shield. The difference is the material, not the shape.
Within sight of salt water, directly over a pool, or anywhere that gets hosed down as part of the cleaning routine. Everywhere else the black shield is the sensible choice and it costs a good deal less. Tell us where it is going and we will say which one honestly.

Do I need marine grade inland?
Almost never. Unless the heater is being washed down often, the black shield will do the same job for less.
Will it fit the SGL50?
No. This one is cut for the SGL35.
