Sunstar Heat Shield Kit, Black, for the SGL35
The shield that goes between an SGL35 and whatever is above it. It is what makes a tight ceiling or a timber soffit workable, and it is already in the box on the fixed mount packages.
- Buy it when the ceiling is close. A shield lets the heater sit where the clearance alone would not allow it.
- Matched to the heater size. This one is cut for the SGL35. The SGL50 takes part 566400, which is listed separately.
- Finish matters as much as fit. Black steel under a black heater. The marine grade version, 566350, is the one for 316 stainless installations.
The clearances the heater needs are in the installation manual and they change with the mounting angle. Send us the ceiling height, the material above the heater and the angle you want, and we will tell you if the shield is needed rather than leaving you to guess.

Do I need one?
If the heater is going under a low ceiling or under anything combustible, almost certainly. Send us the height and the material and we will check the published clearance with you.
Will it fit an SGL50?
No. The SGL50 takes part 566400. They are different sizes and neither will do the other's job.
