The Summerset TRL 38" (TRL38-NG) is a 38 inch built-in natural gas grill with 4 main burners, an infrared back burner and a rotisserie kit. It is built from #304 stainless steel, with U-tube main burners, piezo ignition valves, interior halogen lights and LED lighting run from a plug-in transformer. This is a discontinued model, sold while supplies last.

A licensed gas professional should connect the gas.Have the connection made and leak tested to the manual and local codes. The manual also asks for an outlet rated for the light transformer, and says not to install the grill under unprotected combustible overhead construction.

Questions people ask us

How much clearance does it need?

The manual calls for at least 4 inches to the right, left and rear from a noncombustible wall, 14 inches from a protected combustible wall and 18 inches from a combustible wall. Do not install it under unprotected combustible overhead construction.

Do I need a grill liner?

Yes, if the island is built with combustible material. The manual says a Summerset grill liner (insulating jacket) is required in a combustible surround. Ask us about the liner for the TRL38.

Can it be converted to propane?

The manual says converting to a different gas requires a conversion kit, and a conversion kit is in the unpacking list. A licensed gas professional should do the conversion and adjust the regulator, set to 11 inches of water column for propane.

Does it come with the rotisserie?

Yes. The manual's unpacking list includes one rotisserie kit with the TRL38. The rotisserie runs with the infrared back burner and the lid closed.

Is this model still made?

No. The TRL38 is discontinued and sold while supplies last. Ask us about stock before you plan the island.
