The Skytech 5001 is a battery operated on/off fireplace remote with a backlit touch screen transmitter and a matching receiver. It switches a millivolt gas valve on and off, and Skytech also shows how to wire it to an electronic spark ignition system through a 24VAC transformer. The transmitter has a flame indicator, a low battery indicator and a child safety lockout.

Will it work with my fireplace?
The 5001 is made for millivolt gas valves, and Skytech also shows a hookup for electronic spark ignition through a 24VAC transformer. Your fireplace manual decides what remote it accepts, so send us the model and we will check.
What batteries does it use?
The transmitter takes four AAA batteries and the receiver takes four AA batteries. Skytech recommends alkaline.
How far away does it work?
Skytech rates it for about 20 feet between the transmitter and the receiver.
Can children turn the fireplace on?
The transmitter has a child safety lockout, and the receiver OFF position works as a lockout when the receiver is out of reach. An adult should be present whenever the fireplace is running.
