If the pilot flame is weak, inconsistent, or not receiving gas even though the pilot assembly itself looks intact, the pilot tube is one of the first parts worth checking. A kinked, cracked, or restricted tube can starve the pilot and make the heater act like it has a larger ignition failure.
This pilot tube carries gas from the valve to the pilot assembly on compatible Raypak heaters. When the line is damaged, blocked, or no longer sealing correctly at the ends, pilot gas flow suffers and the heater may fail to light or stay lit. Replacing it restores the gas path feeding the pilot flame.
