This mechanical seal and volute O-ring kit is used on compatible Raypak Protege RPAGP pumps. The mechanical seal controls leakage at the shaft area, while the volute O-ring seals the pump housing joint. When either one fails, water escapes from the wet end and the pump cannot stay sealed the way it should.
