If the pump lid is cracked, the seal is no longer holding prime, or the cover will not tighten correctly after basket service, the lid kit is one of the first wet-end parts to inspect. A damaged pump lid can introduce air, create leaks, and make a good pump look like it has a bigger suction-side problem.
This pump lid cover kit is used on compatible Raypak Protege RPAGP pumps to close and seal the strainer housing above the basket. When the original lid is broken, warped, or no longer sealing correctly, priming and normal circulation can both suffer. Replacing it restores the top closure of the strainer pot so the suction side can stay sealed.
