This tube bundle kit is the internal heat transfer section that carries water through the heater on compatible 406 and 407 polymer-configured units. When the bundle scales up, corrodes, or starts leaking internally, heat transfer drops fast and the heater cannot keep up the way it should. Replacing it restores the water-side path where the heater actually transfers heat.
