When the thermostat shaft still works but the outer knob is cracked, missing, or stripped, temperature control becomes a hassle every time you use the heater. You may be able to turn the control with pliers in a pinch, but that is not a real fix and it makes accurate adjustment harder than it should be.
This thermostat knob is the external control interface used to adjust temperature on compatible heaters. If the original knob is broken or loose on the shaft, the heater can still have a good thermostat underneath but remain difficult to operate. Replacing the knob restores normal manual adjustment and makes routine Raypak heater troubleshooting more straightforward.
