If your 155B heater is leaking from the return side, showing rust around the header, or losing integrity where heated water exits the exchanger, the return header is one of the first water-side components to inspect. Header damage can create pressure loss, external leaks, and unstable flow through the heater.
This cast iron return header collects heated water as it leaves the exchanger and directs it back into the plumbing path on compatible 155B heaters. When the header cracks, corrodes, or no longer seals correctly, the heater can leak and lose water-side stability. Replacing it restores the return-side water routing assembly.
