PGS Legacy Pacifica-960 Grill Head, 39 in

The middle Legacy head, and the one that stops you cooking in shifts. PGS publishes 720 square inches of main cooking area on a 36 by 20 inch grid, plus a 260 square inch warming rack, which they describe as 980 square inches to work with under the lid. VARI GRID variably spaced cooking grids in 304 stainless, FlipGrate, anti theft knobs and a side mounted heat indicator. Battery powered electronic ignition, so there is no wiring to run.

This is a head. It needs something to stand on.

PGS sells the grill and the mount separately, and the gas connection lives in the mount, so a head on its own cannot be used. On natural gas it takes the S36NPED permanent pedestal. On propane it takes the S36CART. It can also drop into the 67 inch Gensun Modano island or into your own masonry. The Pacifica cart is built to a different width than the Newport cart and the two do not interchange, so the builder on our PGS page keeps them apart.

Standard, or Gourmet Timer

The Gourmet Timer version carries PGS FuelStop, a one hour gas flow timer built into the control panel that shuts the gas off on its own and needs no electrical supply. It is the version specified for shared and unattended spaces. PGS does not offer Moon Rok briquettes on the timer heads.

Before you order

PGS requires the enclosed warranty registration card to be returned for the warranty to be in place, and the warranty covers residential use: their manual states commercial, common area or apartment use carries no warranty. Note also that the name says 960 while AEI's own published areas add to 980, and that AEI publishes 64,500 BTU on the model page and 67,500 on their own store. We quote the model page in both cases. If an exact figure matters to your build, ask us and we will get it confirmed.
