PGS A40 Grill Head, 40,000 BTU

The larger cast aluminum park style head. PGS rates it at 40,000 BTU across 434 square inches of cooking surface, on heavy duty stainless steel cooking grids with a stainless warming rack, lit by a self contained continuous spark ignition. Two side shelf kits come with it.

This is a head. It needs something to stand on.

PGS sells the grill and the mount separately, and the gas connection lives in the mount rather than in the head, so a head on its own cannot be used. What it takes depends on your fuel. On natural gas, the APP 48 inch permanent post or the AMPB 24 inch post and base kit. On propane, a pedestal kit, AB PED in black aluminum or AS PED in stainless steel, together with a base kit. The builder on our PGS page walks the whole thing and will not let you order a head with nothing under it.

Manual, or with FuelStop

The timer versions carry PGS FuelStop, a one hour gas flow timer built into the control panel. It shuts the gas off after an hour on its own, and needs no electrical supply to do it, which is why it turns up on grills that live in shared and unattended spaces. The manual version has no timer and nothing to reset.

Before you order

Two things worth knowing. PGS requires the enclosed warranty registration card to be returned for the warranty to be in place. And the PGS warranty covers residential use: their manual states these grills are designed for a residential setting, and that commercial, common area or apartment use carries no warranty. If this is going into a shared space, tell us and we will put that in writing before you order.
