Seavo Collection
Seavo Side Chair
The armless Seavo dining chair: 20 inches wide, 20.25 inches deep and just 11 pounds, with the same 2.25 inch Sunbrella seat pad as the armchair. Losing the arms takes almost four inches off the width and lets a long table take another place setting a side.
- 20 inches wide. Nearly four inches narrower than the Seavo Armchair, which is usually the difference between six around a table and eight.
- A 19.5 inch seat. A quarter inch above the armchair, and tall for an outdoor dining chair. It pairs with a table at 29 to 30 inches.
- 20.25 inches deep. Shallow enough to tuck fully under a table apron, which keeps the walking lane behind the chair usable on a narrow deck.
- The same seat pad as the armchair. 16.5" x 19" x 2.25" in Sunbrella, so a mixed table of armchairs and side chairs looks like one set.

Materials and Construction
Frame. Marine grade aluminum, powder coated. Aluminum does not rust, so the frame does not depend on a coating staying perfect to survive, and it stays light enough that one person can move the piece without help. The powder coat is baked on rather than sprayed, which is why it holds at the joints where outdoor furniture usually fails first.
Feet. Leg end caps are fitted at the factory so the frame does not mark decking, tile or stone when it is slid rather than lifted.
Cushions. Solution dyed acrylic. The color goes into the fiber before it is spun rather than being printed onto finished cloth, which is why these fabrics hold color in direct sun far longer than a conventional outdoor print.
What Is Included
- One Seavo Side Chair on a powder coated aluminum frame
- One seat cushion, 16.5" W x 19" D x 2.25" H, in the fabric you select
The powder coat finish is specified at order time and confirmed on your acknowledgment.

Care and Maintenance
Cushions. Brush off loose dirt, sponge with mild soap and lukewarm water, rinse thoroughly and air dry. Do not machine dry. Bring cushions in or cover them when the piece is not in use for long stretches.
Powder coated aluminum. Wash with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive pads and solvent cleaners, which dull the finish. Touch up a deep scratch promptly so salt and grit have nothing to work at.
Off season. The powder coated aluminum frame can stay outside all year.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many fit around my table?
At 20 inches wide with no arms, allow roughly 24 inches of table edge each. A 72 inch rectangular table takes three a side plus one at each end, which is eight, where Seavo armchairs would give you six.
Can I mix side chairs and armchairs?
Yes, and it is the usual arrangement. Armchairs at the two ends, side chairs down the sides. The seat heights differ by a quarter inch, which nobody notices, and both use the same seat pad.
What is the difference between the fabric choices?
Only the cloth. Foam, cover construction and finished dimensions are identical. Bliss Linen and Mainstreet Dove are both stocked for Seavo, and any other Sunbrella fabric is made to order in whichever you pick.
What does the frame actually look like?
The Seavo frame is drawn around a set of intentional curves on a lean aluminum section, which is what makes a chair this light look substantial. Oxford Garden describes the collection as balancing neoclassical and contemporary form, and the curve of the back is where you see it.
Is it stable at only 11 pounds?
It is a lean aluminum section rather than a flimsy one, and the four legs splay slightly at the floor. On a windy, exposed roof terrace any 11 pound chair will move, which is worth knowing before you buy eight of them.
Can I leave it outside all year?
The frame can. The seat pad will last considerably longer stored dry or under a cover during long stretches when the table is not in use, particularly through a wet winter.
How is it delivered?
By LTL freight to the curb with lift gate service. The carton is 38 by 29 by 40 inches whether it holds two chairs or four, which is past what a parcel carrier will take.
What else is in the Seavo collection?
An armchair and a side chair for dining, a bar stool, and a club chair, loveseat and sofa for lounging. The three lounge pieces share a 17.75 inch seat and 31.5 inches of depth, so they combine into one group without a step between them.
