Palo Collection
Palo Drum End Table in Iron GFRC
The narrow Palo table: a tapered drum 13.5 inches square and 17.75 inches high, cast in GFRC and offered in the dark Iron finish. At just under 40 pounds it is the heavier of the two Palo tables despite being the smaller one.
- A 13.5 inch footprint. Two inches narrower than the Bowls table, which is what gets it between two chairs where a wider table would not fit.
- 39.75 pounds of cast GFRC. Dense and low centered. It stays exactly where it is set, which matters for a narrow table that a wider one would not need to worry about.
- Iron finish. The dark Palo color, which holds its own next to teak and reads as a deliberate accent rather than as a neutral.
- The same 17.75 inch height as the Bowls table. The two Palo tables can be used in the same group without a step between their tops.

Materials and Construction
Material. GFRC, glass fiber reinforced concrete. Glass fibers are worked through the mix so the casting carries tension as well as compression, which is what allows a concrete table to be cast in a shaped, waisted form instead of a heavy block.
Finish. Supplied in Iron. Oxford Garden casts Palo in two GFRC finishes, Arctic and Iron. Iron is the dark of the two.
Surface. Every casting comes out of the mold slightly different. Small variations in tone and texture across the surface are normal in cast concrete and are the reason a cast table does not read like a molded one.

Care and Maintenance
Cast concrete. Wash with mild soap, water and a soft brush. Avoid acidic cleaners, which etch a concrete surface, and avoid dragging the table across stone or concrete, which chips the lower edge. A sealer sold for cast concrete helps keep oil and wine out of the surface if the table sits where food is served.
Off season. The table can stay outside all year. Where water can pool on or under it, clear it before a hard freeze.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the smaller table the heavier one?
The Drum is a tighter, more solid form than the waisted Bowls table, so there is more material in less space. The Drum weighs 39.75 lb against 31.5 lb for the Bowls.
Will it fit between two chairs?
That is its job. At 13.5 inches square it slots into a gap where a normal side table would push the chairs apart, and at 17.75 inches high the top sits below the arm of most lounge seating.
Why is the shipping weight so much higher than the table?
Cast concrete travels in heavy protective packaging, and that is what you are seeing. The carton is 23 by 22 by 25 inches, so the crate and the padding account for most of the difference.
Can I use it with the Bowls table?
Yes. Both stand 17.75 inches high. The Bowls is Arctic and the Drum is Iron, so using them together is a deliberate light and dark pairing rather than a match.
Will it stain?
Cast concrete is porous. Oil, wine and citrus can mark it if left to dry. A sealer made for cast concrete closes the surface, and wiping spills promptly does most of the work.
Can it stay out all winter?
Yes. There is no coating to fail and nothing to rot. Where water can pool on or under it, clear it before a hard freeze.
How careful do I need to be moving it?
Lift it, do not drag it. Concrete edges chip against stone and hard patio surfaces. At 39.75 pounds it is a comfortable two handed lift for one person.
