Orso's lightest chair at 7.5 pounds: an armless dining chair with a tensioned sling seat and back on a powder coated aluminum frame. Twenty one inches wide, so a long table takes more of them, and there is no cushion to carry in when the weather turns.

Materials and Construction
Frame. Marine grade aluminum, powder coated. Aluminum does not rust, so the frame does not depend on a coating staying perfect to survive, and it stays light enough that one person can move the piece without help. The powder coat is baked on rather than sprayed, which is why it holds at the joints where outdoor furniture usually fails first.
Sling. One tensioned panel of outdoor sling fabric carries the seat and the back. There is no cushion to carry in and out, and rain passes straight through the weave instead of sitting in foam.
Feet. Leg end caps are fitted at the factory so the frame does not mark decking, tile or stone when it is slid rather than lifted.

Care and Maintenance
Sling. Hose it down and let it dry. Sling fabric drains and dries on its own and does not need to come inside. For a stubborn mark, mild soap and a soft brush.
Powder coated aluminum. Wash with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive pads and solvent cleaners, which dull the finish. Touch up a deep scratch promptly so salt and grit have nothing to work at.
Off season. The powder coated aluminum frame can stay outside all year.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many will fit around my table?
At 21 inches wide with no arms, allow about 24 inches of table edge per chair for comfort. A 72 inch rectangular table takes three down each long side without anyone knocking elbows, plus one at each end.
How is this different from the woven Orso side chair?
Identical width and seat height, but the seat and back are a tensioned sling rather than hand woven wicker. This one weighs 7.5 pounds against 12, stands two inches taller, and the price list gives it its own item code.
What sling fabric does it come in?

Does the sling stretch out?
It settles a little in the first few weeks of use and then holds its tension. Grit worked into the weave is what genuinely wears a sling, so an occasional rinse is worth more than careful storage.

No. It arrives fully assembled with the sling already tensioned into the frame. Remove the packaging and set it down.
Can it stay outside all year?
Yes. Aluminum does not rust, and the sling sheds water instead of holding it, so a freeze has nothing to act on. It is the least demanding chair in the collection to own.
How is it delivered?
By LTL freight to the curb with lift gate service. The carton runs 30 by 24 by 42 inches even for a 7.5 pound chair, which is why it does not travel by parcel carrier.
