Orso Bar Chair
The Orso dining chair taken up to bar height, with the same hand woven resin wicker bucket and a footrest built into the frame. The seat sits 30.5 inches off the ground, which is the height a 42 inch bar counter is designed around.
- A 30.5 inch seat for a 42 inch bar. That is the standard pairing. It leaves roughly 11 inches between the seat and the underside of the counter, which is where knees want to be.
- Integrated footrest. The rail is part of the welded frame rather than a bolted on ring, so there is no fastener at the one point on a bar chair that takes constant abuse.
- Hand woven resin wicker seat. The same weave as the rest of Orso, in Sand or Shadow, so a bar and a dining table can be furnished as one group.
- Arrives fully assembled. It comes out of the carton ready to pull up to the counter.

Materials and Construction
Frame. Marine grade aluminum, powder coated. Aluminum does not rust, so the frame does not depend on a coating staying perfect to survive, and it stays light enough that one person can move the piece without help. The powder coat is baked on rather than sprayed, which is why it holds at the joints where outdoor furniture usually fails first.
Weave. All weather resin wicker, hand woven over the aluminum seat form. Oxford Garden weaves Orso in two colorways, Sand and Shadow. The strand is synthetic and colored the whole way through rather than surface dyed, so it does not absorb water, go brittle in sun or show a pale core where it gets scuffed.
Feet. Leg end caps are fitted at the factory so the frame does not mark decking, tile or stone when it is slid rather than lifted.

Care and Maintenance
Resin wicker. Hose it off, then work mild soap and lukewarm water into the weave with a soft brush and rinse. Grit trapped between strands is what wears a weave, not weather.
Powder coated aluminum. Wash with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive pads and solvent cleaners, which dull the finish. Touch up a deep scratch promptly so salt and grit have nothing to work at.
Off season. The powder coated aluminum frame can stay outside all year.

Frequently Asked Questions
What counter height does this suit?
A 30.5 inch seat is bar height, meant for a counter or bar surface around 42 inches. If your counter is 36 inches, that is counter height and this chair will sit too high; you want a seat nearer 24 to 26 inches instead.
Is there a footrest?
Yes, and it is welded into the frame rather than clamped on. On a bar chair the footrest takes more abuse than the seat does, so having it be part of the structure rather than an accessory matters over a few seasons.
Which weave color will I get?
Sand or Shadow, at no extra cost. You tell us which you want at order time and we confirm it on your acknowledgment before anything is built.
Does it stack like the dining chairs?
Oxford Garden does not list a stacking note for the bar chair the way it does for the dining chairs, so we do not claim it. Treat it as a chair you store standing rather than in a column.
Is the wicker natural rattan?
No. The strand is synthetic and colored the whole way through before it is woven, so it does not bleach in sun or go brittle in rain, and a scuff does not reveal a pale core underneath.
Can it stay outside all year?
Yes. The aluminum frame does not rust and the resin weave does not take on water. Rinse grit out of the weave now and then, since trapped grit is what actually abrades a woven seat over time.
How is it delivered?
By LTL freight to the curb with lift gate service. At 29 by 23 by 48 inches the carton is too tall for a parcel carrier, so the freight carrier contacts you to arrange a window.
