What is the Nomi Modular Side Seat made of?
The weave is resin wicker over an aluminum frame. Unlike natural cane it does not absorb water, split in frost or grow brittle in sun, and the color runs through the strand rather than sitting on the surface, so a scuff does not show a pale core.
The frame is powder coated aluminum. Powder coat is applied dry and electrostatically, then cured under heat into a continuous shell, which gives a harder and more chip resistant surface than wet paint. Aluminum does not rust, which is why it is the default frame material for poolside and coastal use.
The cushions are Sunbrella Grade B in Mainstreet Dove. Sunbrella is solution dyed, so the color is part of the fiber rather than printed on it, which is why it holds up to sun far better than a dyed fabric and can be cleaned wet.
What finishes can I order?
Greige resin wicker on a Taupe powder coated frame, with Mainstreet Dove Sunbrella cushions. That is the configuration Oxford Garden stocks, and it is what is in stock now.
Greige and Earthen are the two wicker colors Oxford Garden restricts to the Nomi collection. Earthen and other powder coats are made to order on lead time.
The price list also prints a Grade A cushion line against the Nomi seating, but every Grade A fabric Oxford Garden publishes is restricted to the Mende collection, so there is no Grade A fabric orderable on a Nomi frame.
A note on the photography: Oxford Garden's photograph shows this seat in a different cushion fabric from the one we stock. The frame, weave and dimensions are identical. The cushion you receive is the one named above.
How do I care for resin wicker?
Brush the cushions off and hose them down with mild soapy water, then stand them on edge to dry. Sunbrella and olefin covers are made to be cleaned wet.
Bring the cushions in or box them at the end of the season. The frame can stay out; it is the foam that suffers from months of damp.
Wipe the frame with mild soapy water and rinse. Powder coated aluminum needs no waxing, sealing or rust treatment.

How do the modular pieces fit together?
Side seats form the straight runs, corner seats turn ninety degrees, and the left and right loveseats close the ends. All share a 32.25 inch module and a 16.75 inch seat height, so any combination lines up flush.
Why is there no Grade A cushion option?
Because there is no Grade A fabric available on Nomi. The price list prints a Grade A line, but every Grade A fabric Oxford Garden publishes is restricted to the Mende collection, so that line has no orderable fabric behind it.
How many side seats do I need?
Count the straight runs in your layout. A typical L shaped group uses two or three side seats plus one corner. We will lay it out with you if you send the space dimensions.
How quickly does this ship?
It is held in stock rather than on the Quick Ship program, and Oxford Garden ships in stock products within 72 hours in most cases. That is slightly slower than a Quick Ship item but far faster than a made to order piece.
How will a freight shipment be delivered?
Anything past parcel size moves by freight carrier, arrives with lift gate service and is delivered curbside. The driver is not responsible for carrying it into your backyard, patio or installation location, so plan on having help and a clear path ready when the truck arrives.
Will the aluminum frame rust near a pool?
Aluminum does not rust, which is why it is the standard frame material for poolside furniture. The powder coat protects against surface corrosion from chlorinated and salt water. Rinse the frame occasionally if it sits directly beside the water.
Can this go in a restaurant or hotel?
Yes. Oxford Garden builds to commercial grade and its furniture is specified regularly for hospitality. The materials are chosen to survive repeated cleaning and constant outdoor exposure rather than occasional residential use.
