Nette Collection
Nette Bar Chair
The bar height chair in the Nette collection, on a 30.5 inch seat with a woven strap back and a tensioned sling panel. At 43.5 inches tall it is the highest seat Oxford Garden builds in Nette, and it carries the same footrest and the same strap pattern as the counter chair.
- A 30.5 inch seat for a 40 to 42 inch bar. Nine and a half to eleven and a half inches of knee clearance, which is where people sit comfortably at a bar.
- Woven strap back, sling seat. The strap flexes where your back leans; the sling is a taut, flat panel where you sit. Both drain.
- 15.5 pounds at bar height. Light for a chair this tall, which is what makes it easy to pull in and out without scraping a deck.
- Nothing to store. No cushion, no pad, nothing to bring in when the forecast turns.

Materials and Construction
Frame. Marine grade aluminum, powder coated. Aluminum does not rust, so the frame does not depend on its coating staying perfect in order to survive, and it stays light enough that one person can move a chair without help. The powder coat is baked on rather than sprayed, which is why it holds at the joints where outdoor furniture usually fails first.
Strap. Nette's seat and back are woven from flat outdoor strap, hand run over the aluminum frame. Water passes straight through the gaps rather than sitting in foam, and the strap carries its color through the material. Oxford Garden weaves this strap on two collections only, Nette and Malti.
Sling. A tensioned panel of outdoor sling fabric, stretched in the frame rather than laid over it. It drains, it dries on its own and there is nothing to carry indoors when it rains.

Care and Maintenance
Strap and sling. Hose them down and let them dry. Both drain on their own and neither needs to come inside. For a stubborn mark, mild soap and a soft brush.
Powder coated aluminum. Wash with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive pads and solvent cleaners, which dull the finish. Touch up a deep scratch promptly so salt and grit have nothing to work at.
Off season. The powder coated aluminum frame can stay outside all year.

Frequently Asked Questions
What bar height does this suit?
A 40 to 42 inch bar. At a 30.5 inch seat you get nine and a half to eleven and a half inches of knee room, which is the range people find comfortable to sit at through a whole evening.
How is it different from the Nette counter chair?
Seven inches. The bar chair sits at 30.5 inches and stands 43.5; the counter chair sits at 23.5 and stands 36.5. Same 24.25 by 24 inch footprint, same strap and sling, same footrest.
Is there a footrest?
Yes, and it is part of the aluminum frame. On a chair with a 30.5 inch seat a footrest is what stops your legs hanging, so it is structural rather than an accessory.
Does it take a cushion?
No. The sling panel is the seat surface. There is no cushion to buy, store or dry out, which is the practical argument for a strap and sling chair around an outdoor bar.
What colors can I have?
Nine strap colors, plus a sling and a powder coat specified separately, all at no extra cost. Tell us the combination and we confirm the full item code on your acknowledgment.
Can it stay outside all year?
Yes. Powder coated marine grade aluminum does not rust and both strap and sling drain and dry unaided. Nothing on this chair needs to be carried indoors when the season ends.
How is it delivered?
By LTL freight to the curb with lift gate service. The carton is 33 by 26 by 25 inches, outside parcel limits, so the carrier arranges a window before delivery.
What else is in the Nette collection?
A dining armchair, a counter chair and a bar chair on woven strap and sling, a club chair, a loveseat and a sofa on cushions, and a coffee table and an end table with HPL tops. Every piece is powder coated marine grade aluminum.
