Nette Collection
Nette Armchair
A dining armchair on a powder coated aluminum frame, with a hand woven strap back and a tensioned sling seat. At 12.5 pounds it is the lightest seat in the Nette collection, and it packs two to a carton, which is how a terrace of twelve chairs stops being a freight problem.
- Woven strap and a sling seat in one chair. The strap gives the back its pattern and give; the sling gives the seat a taut, drum tight surface that drains.
- Nothing to carry indoors. No cushion, no pad. Rain passes through the strap and off the sling, and the chair is dry within minutes of the weather clearing.
- A 17 inch seat at 12.5 pounds. Low enough to be relaxed at a table and light enough that one person can rearrange a whole terrace.
- Packed two per carton. Oxford Garden lists this chair with a single case pack of 2, and the shipping weight is quoted for the pair.

Materials and Construction
Frame. Marine grade aluminum, powder coated. Aluminum does not rust, so the frame does not depend on its coating staying perfect in order to survive, and it stays light enough that one person can move a chair without help. The powder coat is baked on rather than sprayed, which is why it holds at the joints where outdoor furniture usually fails first.
Strap. Nette's seat and back are woven from flat outdoor strap, hand run over the aluminum frame. Water passes straight through the gaps rather than sitting in foam, and the strap carries its color through the material. Oxford Garden weaves this strap on two collections only, Nette and Malti.
Sling. A tensioned panel of outdoor sling fabric, stretched in the frame rather than laid over it. It drains, it dries on its own and there is nothing to carry indoors when it rains.

Care and Maintenance
Strap and sling. Hose them down and let them dry. Both drain on their own and neither needs to come inside. For a stubborn mark, mild soap and a soft brush.
Powder coated aluminum. Wash with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive pads and solvent cleaners, which dull the finish. Touch up a deep scratch promptly so salt and grit have nothing to work at.
Off season. The powder coated aluminum frame can stay outside all year.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is it packed and shipped?
Two chairs to a carton. Oxford Garden lists a case pack of 2 and quotes 31 pounds for the pair in a 26 by 26 by 25 inch box, which works out at roughly 15.5 pounds of shipping weight per chair.
Why a strap back and a sling seat rather than one or the other?
They do different jobs. The woven strap flexes across the back and gives the chair its pattern. The sling is a single tensioned panel, which is a flatter and firmer surface to sit on for a meal.
Will it fit under my dining table?
The seat is 17 inches high, so a 29 or 30 inch table leaves twelve to thirteen inches of clearance, which is generous. The chair is 26 inches across the arms, so allow that much width per seat.
Does it need a cushion?
No, and it is not designed for one. The sling seat is the seat. That is the point of a strap and sling chair: nothing to store, nothing to soak, nothing to bring in when the forecast changes.
What colors can I have?
Nine strap colors, a sling panel and a powder coat, each specified separately. Tell us the combination you want and we will confirm the full item code before ordering.
Can it stay outside all year?
Yes. The frame is powder coated marine grade aluminum, which does not rust, and both the strap and the sling drain and dry on their own. There is nothing on this chair that needs to come inside.
How is it delivered?
By parcel carrier. At a 26 by 26 by 25 inch carton holding two chairs it stays inside parcel limits, which is unusual for outdoor dining seating and is a direct result of the two pack.
What else is in the Nette collection?
A dining armchair, a counter chair and a bar chair on woven strap and sling, a club chair, a loveseat and a sofa on cushions, and a coffee table and an end table with HPL tops. Every piece is powder coated marine grade aluminum.
