A full size outdoor lounge chair, 34 inches across and 34.25 inches deep, wrapped in Blonde Cane Weave over a powder coated aluminum frame. The 18 inch seat and the deep cushions put it firmly in lounge territory rather than at a table.
- Genuinely wide, at 34 inches. That is as wide as a lot of indoor armchairs. Paired across a low table, two of them set the scale of a whole terrace.
- Blonde Cane Weave. Oxford Garden's synthetic cane, used on Mende only. Traditional caning look, commercial outdoor durability, no oiling and no splitting.

Materials and Construction
Frame. Marine grade aluminum, powder coated. Aluminum does not rust, so the frame does not depend on a coating staying perfect to survive, and it stays light enough that one person can move the piece without help. The powder coat is baked on rather than sprayed, which is why it holds at the joints where outdoor furniture usually fails first.
Weave. Blonde Cane Weave, used on the Mende collection only. It is a synthetic cane that reads like traditional caning but is built for commercial duty outdoors, so it does not swell, split or mildew the way natural cane does when it is rained on.
Feet. Leg end caps are fitted at the factory so the frame does not mark decking, tile or stone when it is slid rather than lifted.
Cushions. Solution dyed acrylic. The color goes into the fiber before it is spun rather than being printed onto finished cloth, which is why these fabrics hold color in direct sun far longer than a conventional outdoor print.

Care and Maintenance
Cushions. Brush off loose dirt, sponge with mild soap and lukewarm water, rinse thoroughly and air dry. Do not machine dry. Bring cushions in or cover them when the piece is not in use for long stretches.
Blonde Cane Weave. Rinse and wipe with mild soap and water, using a soft brush along the weave rather than across it. It needs no oiling or sealing, which is the practical difference from natural cane.
Powder coated aluminum. Wash with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive pads and solvent cleaners, which dull the finish. Touch up a deep scratch promptly so salt and grit have nothing to work at.
Off season. The powder coated aluminum frame can stay outside all year.

How much room does a pair need?
Each chair is 34 inches wide and 34.25 inches deep. Two facing across a coffee table wants roughly nine feet of terrace end to end, and about seven feet front to front, before it starts to feel crowded.
Does it match the Mende Sofa?
Yes, deliberately. Both sit at 18 inches and both are 34.25 inches deep, so a chair pulled up beside the sofa lines up at the seat and the arm rather than stepping up or down.
Can I leave it outside all year?
The frame and the cane weave can stay out without concern. The cushions last a great deal longer stored dry or kept under a cover when the chair is not in use for weeks at a time.
How is it delivered?
