Malti Strap Side Chair
The armless chair in the Malti Strap family, a different frame from the plain Malti Side Chair rather than a different cover on it. A woven strap panel fills the back and the seat cushion runs 19 inches deep. At 21.25 inches wide it is the narrowest strap seat Oxford Garden builds.
- The narrowest strap chair in the range. 21.25 inches wide against 23.25 or more on every other Malti Strap seat, which is what makes it the one to order in sixes.
- A woven strap back. The panel spans the back opening rather than leaving bare tube, and it is offered in nine colors on Malti and Nette frames only.
- A 19 inch deep seat cushion. Five inches deeper than the cushion on the plain Malti Side Chair. The two families do not share cushions.
- Sits level with the rest of Malti. 19 inch seat height and a 30.25 inch back, the same as every other Malti dining chair, strap or plain.

The Malti Strap Side Chair is the armless seat in Oxford Garden's Malti Strap range. The strap panel is woven across the back opening of the aluminum frame, and the same weave is offered on the Nette collection and nowhere else in the Oxford Garden line.

Cushion and Fabric Options
Oxford Garden prices Malti cushions in fabric grades. The cushion itself does not change between grades. The fill, the cover construction and the dimensions are identical on every line; what changes is which Sunbrella book the cover is cut from, and that is what moves the price. Malti is one of the few Oxford Garden collections with a named fabric at two different grades.

Materials and Construction
Frame. Marine grade aluminum, powder coated. Aluminum does not rust, so the frame does not depend on a coating staying perfect to survive. The powder coat is baked on rather than sprayed, which is why it resists chipping at the joints where outdoor furniture usually fails first.
Cushions. Solution dyed acrylic. The color goes into the fiber before it is spun rather than being printed onto finished cloth, which is why these fabrics hold color in direct sun far longer than a conventional outdoor print.

The strap panel is a no cost selection made when the order is placed. Nine colors are offered, shared with Oxford Garden's Nette collection and available on no other Oxford Garden frame:

Shipping and Delivery
This piece ships by LTL freight, not by parcel carrier, at 17 lb.

Care and Maintenance
Cushions. Brush off loose dirt, sponge with mild soap and lukewarm water, rinse thoroughly and air dry. Do not machine dry. Bring cushions in or cover them when the piece is not in use for long stretches.
Powder coated aluminum. Wash with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive pads and solvent cleaners, which dull the finish. Touch up any deep scratch promptly so salt and grit have nothing to work at.
Off season. The frame can stay outside all year.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the price include the cushions?
Yes. The seat and back cushions ship with the frame and the grade you pick sets which Sunbrella range the covers are cut from. There is no separate cushion to add to the order.
What is the difference between Grade A and Grade B?
Only the fabric book the cover is cut from. The cushion itself, its fill and its dimensions are the same on both lines. Grade B is Mainstreet Dove, the named Sunbrella for Malti. Grade A is made to order in whichever Grade A Sunbrella you choose.
Can I leave it outside all year?
The frame, yes. Powder coated aluminum does not rust and does not depend on the coating staying perfect to survive the winter. The cushions last considerably longer if you store them dry or cover them when the piece is not in use for long stretches.
Is this the same chair as the Malti Side Chair with a different fabric?
No. It is a separate frame with its own item code, a woven strap back, a deeper seat cushion and about two extra pounds of weight. The two are priced independently and the cushions do not swap between them.
What does the strap add over the plain chair?
A filled back panel instead of an open frame, in one of nine colors. Visually it closes the chair up, which matters most when the chairs are seen from behind across a terrace.
What strap colors can I choose?

How is this delivered?
By LTL freight to the curb with lift gate service on a palletized shipment, not by parcel carrier. You will be contacted to arrange a delivery window. The driver is not able to carry it into a yard, through a gate or onto a deck.
How is Malti Strap different from plain Malti?
It is a different frame, not a fabric choice. The back carries a woven strap panel, the seat cushion is deeper, the chair weighs more and it has its own item code. The two families are priced separately and are not interchangeable.
