Malti Collection
Malti Strap Highback Club Chair
The tall backed chair in the Malti Strap family. At 42.75 inches the back is the largest single surface in the collection, and on this frame it is filled with a woven strap panel rather than left as open tube. The seat still sits at 18.5 inches, level with the rest of Malti.
- The biggest strap panel Oxford Garden builds on Malti. A 42.75 inch back on a 29.25 inch wide frame. If the strap is the reason to buy the family, this is where it shows most.
- A 17.5 inch back cushion on a 42.75 inch frame. The cushion sits within the tall back rather than filling it, so the strap remains visible above the shoulder line.
- Nine strap colors. Pewter, Seagrass, Horizon, Garnet, Clay, Wren, Sandstone, Beige and Sterling, offered on Malti and Nette frames only.
- An 18.5 inch seat height. Matched to every other Malti lounge piece, so it can anchor a group of standard height club chairs without breaking the line.
Details and specifications
Product Details
The Malti Strap Highback Club Chair is the tall backed lounge seat in Oxford Garden's Malti Strap range. The woven panel spans the full back opening, and because the back cushion is shorter than the frame the strap stays in view above the shoulder line.
Manufacturer item code MLHCCST. Cushions come in Mainstreet Dove or in any other Sunbrella fabric made to order.

Cushion and Fabric Options
The cushion itself is the same whichever fabric you choose. The fill, the cover construction and the dimensions are identical; the only thing that changes is which Sunbrella fabric the cover is cut from.
| Option | What it is |
|---|---|
| Mainstreet Dove | Mainstreet Dove, the Sunbrella Oxford Garden stocks for Malti. No fabric selection needed. |
| Other Sunbrella fabrics, made to order | Your choice from the wider Sunbrella range, made to order in the fabric you pick. |
Own fabric orders are quoted by phone, because the cost depends on the material, the yardage and the run. We will confirm the quote with Oxford Garden before anything is ordered.
Materials and Construction
Frame. Marine grade aluminum, powder coated. Aluminum does not rust, so the frame does not depend on a coating staying perfect to survive. The powder coat is baked on rather than sprayed, which is why it resists chipping at the joints where outdoor furniture usually fails first.
Cushions. Solution dyed acrylic. The color goes into the fiber before it is spun rather than being printed onto finished cloth, which is why these fabrics hold color in direct sun far longer than a conventional outdoor print.

Care and Maintenance
Cushions. Brush off loose dirt, sponge with mild soap and lukewarm water, rinse thoroughly and air dry. Do not machine dry. Bring cushions in or cover them when the piece is not in use for long stretches.
Powder coated aluminum. Wash with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive pads and solvent cleaners, which dull the finish. Touch up any deep scratch promptly so salt and grit have nothing to work at.
Off season. The frame can stay outside all year.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are the cushions included?
Yes. The seat and back cushions ship with the frame, in the fabric you pick. There is no separate cushion to add to the order.
What is the difference between the fabric choices?
Only the cloth. The cushion itself, its fill and its dimensions are the same. Mainstreet Dove is the Sunbrella Oxford Garden stocks for Malti, and any other Sunbrella fabric is made to order in whichever you choose.
Can I leave it outside all year?
The frame, yes. Powder coated aluminum does not rust and does not depend on the coating staying perfect to survive the winter. The cushions last considerably longer if you store them dry or cover them when the piece is not in use for long stretches.
Does the back cushion reach the top of the chair?
No, and it is not meant to. The cushion is 17.5 inches tall inside a 42.75 inch frame, so the woven strap shows above it. That is the design of the piece rather than a missing cushion.
How does it compare with the plain Malti High Back Club Chair?
Same width, same depth, same 18.5 inch seat and the same seat cushion size. The plain version carries a 20.5 inch back cushion and an open back; this one carries a 17.5 inch cushion and a strap panel.
What strap colors can I choose?
Nine: Pewter, Seagrass, Horizon, Garnet, Clay, Wren, Sandstone, Beige and Sterling. Oxford Garden offers this strap on the Malti and Nette frames only. The color is a no cost selection and we confirm it with you before the order goes in.
How is this delivered?
By LTL freight to the curb with lift gate service on a palletized shipment, not by parcel carrier. You will be contacted to arrange a delivery window. The driver is not able to carry it into a yard, through a gate or onto a deck.
How is Malti Strap different from plain Malti?
It is a different frame, not a fabric choice. The back carries a woven strap panel, the seat cushion is deeper, the chair weighs more and it has its own item code. The two families are sold separately and are not interchangeable.
