What is the Malti Strap Club Chair made of?
The frame is powder coated aluminum. Powder coat is applied dry and electrostatically, then cured under heat into a continuous shell, which gives a harder and more chip resistant surface than wet paint. Aluminum does not rust, which is why it is the default frame material for poolside and coastal use.
The seat and back are woven strap, a flat outdoor webbing Oxford Garden offers on Malti and Nette only. It carries load across the frame like a sling but reads as a woven texture rather than a stretched sheet, and it drains rather than absorbing.
The cushions are Sunbrella. Sunbrella is solution dyed, which means the color is part of the fiber rather than printed on it, so it holds up to sun far better than a dyed fabric and can be cleaned wet without the color lifting.

How do I care for this piece?
Brush the cushions off and hose them down with mild soapy water, then stand them on edge to dry. Sunbrella and olefin covers are made to be cleaned wet.
Bring the cushions in or box them at the end of the season. The frame can stay out; it is the foam that suffers from months of damp.
Wipe the frame with mild soapy water and rinse. Powder coated aluminum needs no waxing, sealing or rust treatment.

How is this different from the plain Malti Club Chair?
This one has a Sandstone woven strap frame on a Frost powder coat; the plain version is a bare Carbon frame with Bliss Linen cushions. Same 18.5 inch seat, and this one is 2.5 pounds heavier.
Does the strap show through the cushion?
It is visible around and below the cushion rather than under it, which is the point. The strap gives the chair a woven texture on the sides and back where a plain frame would show bare metal.
Why is there no Grade A cushion option?
Because there is no Grade A fabric available on this collection. The price list prints a Grade A line, but every Grade A fabric Oxford Garden publishes is restricted to the Mende collection, so that line has no orderable fabric behind it.
How quickly does this ship?
It is held in stock rather than on the Quick Ship program, and Oxford Garden ships in stock products within 72 hours in most cases. That is slightly slower than a Quick Ship item but far faster than a made to order piece.
Will the aluminum frame rust near a pool?
Aluminum does not rust, which is why it is the standard frame material for poolside furniture. The powder coat protects against surface corrosion from chlorinated and salt water. Rinse the frame occasionally if it sits directly beside the water.
