Malti Collection
Malti Strap Club Chair
The deep seating chair in the Malti Strap family, with a woven panel closing the back of the frame behind the cushion. It is half an inch deeper than the plain Malti Club Chair and about two and a half pounds heavier, on the same 18.5 inch seat height.
- A filled back, not an open frame. The strap panel is what you see from behind and from the side, which is most of the time on a lounge chair set at an angle.
- Nine strap colors. Pewter, Seagrass, Horizon, Garnet, Clay, Wren, Sandstone, Beige and Sterling, on Malti and Nette frames only.
- A 5.5 inch seat cushion. Same depth as the plain Malti club chair, on a frame that runs 29.75 inches deep instead of 29.25.
- An 18.5 inch seat height. Level with every other Malti lounge seat, strap or plain, so a mixed group around one coffee table reads correctly.

Cushion and Fabric Options
The cushion itself does not change with your choice of fabric. The fill, the cover construction and the dimensions are identical on every option.
| Fabric | What it is |
|---|---|
| Mainstreet Dove | The Sunbrella Oxford Garden stocks for Malti. No fabric selection needed. |
| Other Sunbrella fabrics, made to order | Wider Sunbrella ranges, made to order in the fabric you choose. |
Materials and Construction
Frame. Marine grade aluminum, powder coated. Aluminum does not rust, so the frame does not depend on a coating staying perfect to survive. The powder coat is baked on rather than sprayed, which is why it resists chipping at the joints where outdoor furniture usually fails first.
Cushions. Solution dyed acrylic. The color goes into the fiber before it is spun rather than being printed onto finished cloth, which is why these fabrics hold color in direct sun far longer than a conventional outdoor print.

Care and Maintenance
Cushions. Brush off loose dirt, sponge with mild soap and lukewarm water, rinse thoroughly and air dry. Do not machine dry. Bring cushions in or cover them when the piece is not in use for long stretches.
Powder coated aluminum. Wash with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive pads and solvent cleaners, which dull the finish. Touch up any deep scratch promptly so salt and grit have nothing to work at.
Off season. The frame can stay outside all year.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are the cushions included?
Yes. The seat and back cushions ship with the frame and your fabric choice sets what the covers are cut from. There is no separate cushion to add to the order.
What is the difference between the fabric choices?
Only the cloth the cover is cut from. The cushion itself, its fill and its dimensions are the same. Mainstreet Dove is the stocked Sunbrella for Malti. Other Sunbrella fabrics are made to order in whichever one you choose.
Can I leave it outside all year?
The frame, yes. Powder coated aluminum does not rust and does not depend on the coating staying perfect to survive the winter. The cushions last considerably longer if you store them dry or cover them when the piece is not in use for long stretches.
Will it group with the plain Malti Club Chair?
Dimensionally yes. Both are 29.25 inches wide, 32 inches tall and seated at 18.5 inches, within half an inch of each other in depth. Visually the strap back is the obvious difference, so most buyers commit to one family.
Does the strap carry the sitter or is it decorative?
The panel spans the back opening of the frame behind the back cushion. The seat cushion sits on the frame as it does on the plain club chair, so the two feel closer than they look.
What strap colors can I choose?
Nine: Pewter, Seagrass, Horizon, Garnet, Clay, Wren, Sandstone, Beige and Sterling. Oxford Garden offers this strap on the Malti and Nette frames only. The color is a no cost selection and we confirm it with you before the order goes in.
How is this delivered?
By LTL freight to the curb with lift gate service on a palletized shipment, not by parcel carrier. You will be contacted to arrange a delivery window. The driver is not able to carry it into a yard, through a gate or onto a deck.
How is Malti Strap different from plain Malti?
It is a different frame, not a fabric choice. The back carries a woven strap panel, the seat cushion is deeper, the chair weighs more and it has its own item code. The two families are not interchangeable.
