Malti Collection
Malti Side Chair
The armless Malti dining chair, 21.25 inches wide and 10.5 pounds. Dropping the arms takes two and a quarter inches off the width, which is what lets you put six around a table that only really wanted four. Seat height, cushion sizes and frame are otherwise identical to the Malti Armchair.
- Two and a quarter inches narrower than the armchair. 21.25 inches against 23.5. Over a six chair table that is more than a foot of recovered elbow room.
- Ten and a half pounds. The lightest seat in the Malti range. Stack them against a wall at the end of the evening without asking for help.
- Matched to the armchair. Same 19 inch seat height, same 2 inch seat pad, same 13 inch back cushion. Buy four side chairs and two armchairs and the table still reads as one set.
- Two stocked fabrics. Bliss Linen and Mainstreet Dove are both stocked for Malti, and other Sunbrella fabrics are made to order.

The Malti Side Chair is the armless dining chair in Oxford Garden's Malti range, built on the same slim squared aluminum tube as the rest of the collection. Removing the arms is what makes it the chair to buy in quantity: it is narrower, lighter and easier to store than any other seat in the family.
Manufacturer item code MLSC. Sold complete with seat and back cushions. The Malti Strap Side Chair is a separate frame with its own code.

Cushion and Fabric Options
The cushion itself is the same whichever fabric you choose. The fill, the cover construction and the dimensions are identical; the only thing that changes is which Sunbrella fabric the cover is cut from.

Materials and Construction
Frame. Marine grade aluminum, powder coated. Aluminum does not rust, so the frame does not depend on a coating staying perfect to survive. The powder coat is baked on rather than sprayed, which is why it resists chipping at the joints where outdoor furniture usually fails first.
Cushions. Solution dyed acrylic. The color goes into the fiber before it is spun rather than being printed onto finished cloth, which is why these fabrics hold color in direct sun far longer than a conventional outdoor print.

This piece ships by LTL freight, not by parcel carrier, at 18 lb.

Care and Maintenance
Cushions. Brush off loose dirt, sponge with mild soap and lukewarm water, rinse thoroughly and air dry. Do not machine dry. Bring cushions in or cover them when the piece is not in use for long stretches.
Powder coated aluminum. Wash with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive pads and solvent cleaners, which dull the finish. Touch up any deep scratch promptly so salt and grit have nothing to work at.
Off season. The frame can stay outside all year.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are the cushions included?
Yes. The seat and back cushions ship with the frame, in the fabric you pick. There is no separate cushion to add to the order.
What is the difference between the fabric choices?
Only the cloth. Construction and dimensions are identical. Bliss Linen and Mainstreet Dove are both stocked for Malti, and any other Sunbrella fabric is made to order in whichever you pick.
Can I leave it outside all year?
The frame, yes. Powder coated aluminum does not rust and does not depend on the coating staying perfect to survive the winter. The cushions last considerably longer if you store them dry or cover them when the piece is not in use for long stretches.
Can I mix side chairs and armchairs at one table?
That is the usual way to buy them. Armchairs at the two ends, side chairs down the long sides. Both sit at 19 inches and share the same back height, so the table reads as a matched set rather than a compromise.
How many fit around the 48 inch round Malti table?
Four is the comfortable number on a 48 inch round top. At 21.25 inches wide the side chairs will take a fifth at a squeeze, which the 23.5 inch armchairs will not.

How is this delivered?
By LTL freight to the curb with lift gate service on a palletized shipment, not by parcel carrier. You will be contacted to arrange a delivery window. The driver is not able to carry it into a yard, through a gate or onto a deck.
