Malti Collection
Malti Armchair
The arm version of the Malti dining chair, 23.5 inches across the arms and 11.5 pounds on its feet. The frame is powder coated aluminum rather than teak or wicker, which is why a table of six can be pulled out and put back by one person. A 2 inch seat pad and a separate back cushion take the edge off the metal without turning it into a lounge chair.
- Eleven and a half pounds. Light enough that rearranging a full table is a one person job, and light enough to carry indoors ahead of a storm without a hand truck.
- A 19 inch seat height. That clears the apron on a standard 29 to 29.5 inch dining table, including the Malti 48 inch round and 76 inch rectangular tops.
- Cushioned, not upholstered. A 2 inch seat pad and a 13 inch back cushion in Sunbrella solution dyed acrylic. Thin enough to drain and dry quickly instead of holding water the way a deep cushion does.
- Two stocked fabrics. Malti is stocked in Bliss Linen and Mainstreet Dove, so you can order without choosing from a fabric book. Other Sunbrella fabrics are made to order.
Details and specifications
Product Details
The Malti Armchair is the arm chair in Oxford Garden's Malti dining range, a powder coated aluminum program built on a slim squared tube. It shares its 19 inch seat height and cushion sizes with the Malti Side Chair, so the two mix freely around one table when you want arms at the ends only.
Manufacturer item code MLCH. Sold complete with seat and back cushions. The Malti Strap Armchair is a separate frame with its own code and is not a finish option on this chair.

Materials and Construction
Frame. Marine grade aluminum, powder coated. Aluminum does not rust, so the frame does not depend on a coating staying perfect to survive. The powder coat is baked on rather than sprayed, which is why it resists chipping at the joints where outdoor furniture usually fails first.
Cushions. Solution dyed acrylic. The color goes into the fiber before it is spun rather than being printed onto finished cloth, which is why these fabrics hold color in direct sun far longer than a conventional outdoor print.

Care and Maintenance
Cushions. Brush off loose dirt, sponge with mild soap and lukewarm water, rinse thoroughly and air dry. Do not machine dry. Bring cushions in or cover them when the piece is not in use for long stretches.
Powder coated aluminum. Wash with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive pads and solvent cleaners, which dull the finish. Touch up any deep scratch promptly so salt and grit have nothing to work at.
Off season. The frame can stay outside all year.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are the cushions included?
Yes. The seat and back cushions ship with the frame and your fabric choice sets what the covers are cut from. There is no separate cushion to add to the order.
What is the difference between the fabric choices?
The cushions are the same. Construction and dimensions are identical. Bliss Linen and Mainstreet Dove are the stocked fabrics for Malti. Other Sunbrella fabrics open the wider range and are made to order.
Can I leave it outside all year?
The frame, yes. Powder coated aluminum does not rust and does not depend on the coating staying perfect to survive the winter. The cushions last considerably longer if you store them dry or cover them when the piece is not in use for long stretches.
Will it fit under a standard dining table?
The seat sits 19 inches off the ground and the chair is 23.5 inches wide at the arms. That suits any table with roughly 24 to 25 inches of clearance under the apron, which covers the Malti 48 inch and 76 inch tops and most standard outdoor dining tables.
How many go around the 76 inch Malti table?
Six is what the dimensions allow comfortably: three down each long side at 23.5 inches wide, with the ends left open. Add a chair at each end and the arms start to interfere with the corner legs.
What frame colors can I get?
Frame color is a powder coat selection made with the order, at no extra cost, from Oxford Garden's standard Malti range. Tell us the finish you want when you order and we will confirm it before the order goes in.
How is this delivered?
By LTL freight to the curb with lift gate service on a palletized shipment, not by parcel carrier. You will be contacted to arrange a delivery window. The driver is not able to carry it into a yard, through a gate or onto a deck.
What else is in the plain Malti collection?
A side chair, an armchair, a counter chair, a bar chair, a club chair, a high back club chair, a loveseat and a sofa, plus HPL topped dining, bar, coffee and end tables. The Malti Strap pieces are a separate frame, not a finish option on these.
