What is the Kapri Side Chair made of?
The frame is powder coated aluminum. Powder coat is applied dry and electrostatically, then cured under heat into a continuous shell, which gives a harder and more chip resistant surface than wet paint. Aluminum does not rust, which is why it is the default frame material for poolside and coastal use.
Kapri is Oxford Garden's lightest aluminum range. There is no cushion, no sling and no weave: the seat and back are formed from the same powder coated aluminum as the frame, which is what gets the weight down under ten pounds and makes the chairs genuinely stackable in quantity.

How do I care for this piece?
Wipe the frame down with mild soapy water and rinse. Powder coated aluminum needs no waxing, sealing or rust treatment.
Avoid abrasive pads and scouring powders, which dull the powder coat and leave a polished patch that cannot be blended back in afterwards.
Check the glides under each leg once a season. A missing glide is the usual cause of scratching on stone, tile and composite decking.
